Suspending Service: Suspending service means that you would like to retain your pager number but for a reason such as loss or theft, do not want the pager to receive pages. If a pager is suspended, a caller will hear that they have reached an invalid pager # or the number that they have called has been disconnected. In reality, the number is still ringing to the pager so if you need to reconnect the number or move it to a replacement pager, it will still be available. Your billing will not cease if a number is suspended, so only suspend a pager # if you intend on reconnecting it.
Canceling Service: Canceling a pager means that we are disconnecting the pager number and it will no longer be attached to the pager. Once a pager phone number is cancelled, we may not be able to reconnect the same # in the future so make sure you are positive that you no longer would like paging service with that pager phone number in the future. In some instances, once a pager is disconnected, we may not be able to reconnect it, however most current model pagers may be reconnected in the future if desired.
If your pager is lost or stolen: Please alert PagersDirect as soon as possible. If you pager is lost or stolen and you have airtime remaining, let PagersDirect know that you want to either cancel service or replace your pager and have your service suspended until your new pager arrives. Many customer lose their pager with many months remaining on their service and do not think to alert PagersDirect until their renewal bill arrives. This will waste your remaining airtime which could be credited toward your new replacement pager.
When opening a support ticket, please tell us your name, pager phone number and date/time that you would like us to disconnect or suspend your pager. Please be specific as possible.
For example, if you just received a renewal pager bill that isn't due until next month, and you intend on cancelling as you no longer use the pager, please instruct us to "disconnect today" then if you decide to reconnect in the future, you may still have a month or two left of service.
Now, if you want to disconnect at the end of your prepaid term, which may be up to 2 months after your renewal bill is received, let us know to cancel at the end of your service term. This may be required if you are a student still using your pager, but not needing the service in two months as you will no longer be in school.
Refund Policy: PagersDirect offers refunds in the first 30 days of a new pager activation. Deductibles may apply. After 30 days PagersDirect cannot offer a cash/credit card refund, however any unused airtime remaining will be noted on your account and you may reconnect in the future to use the remaining airtime.
